Book a free one-to-one session

If you’d like to talk through the proposal and what it could mean for you specifically, you can book a one-to-one appointment with a pension expert. These sessions are confidential and free of charge.

These sessions are run by Marsh’s Financial Education team, who specialise in helping members understand and engage with their pension benefits.

How to book your free session

  • Select a date and time that suits you. All one-to-one sessions will be held virtually, so you will have no need to travel for your online meeting.
  • Fill in your information on the booking tool below and you will receive a confirmation email with details of your appointment.

What's covered in the session?

You can use your session to:

  • ask questions about the consultation and the proposed changes;
  • understand, at a high level, how your built-up benefits in the Scheme will be treated if the proposal goes ahead (i.e. what you will be entitled to as a Deferred member as opposed to an Active member); and
  • talk through your retirement options and the choices you may have in the future in relation to your DC pension with Standard Life.

You will be provided with a personal illustration (deferred statement) of your built-up benefits in the Scheme, to support your one-to-one discussions. This personal illustration will show an estimate of your benefits in the Scheme at retirement, based on your benefits built up to the proposed closure date. This personal illustration, along with your annual benefit statement, is available on Aptia OneView.

You should have both of these statements to hand to facilitate your one-to-one session.

Please note

These are guidance sessions only, not full financial advice. If you feel that you need financial advice following your one-to-one session, you can find your own FCA-regulated adviser by going to moneyhelper.org.uk. Should you go ahead with independent regulated advice, this will be at your own expense.

How long is the session and how will it take place?

Appointments last 45 minutes.

Sessions are virtual and there will be slots available to choose from between 12 to 30 October 2026.

To book a one-to-one, use the booking tool and select the virtual meeting option. These meetings will be available via either Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

What should you bring?

To help make the most of your time, please bring:

  • your most recent annual benefit statement from the Scheme and your personal illustration (deferred statement). Both personalised statements are available to you via Aptia OneView; and
  • any information you have about other pension savings you’ve built up (for example, previous workplace pensions or personal pensions).
